  • Stage curtains (main curtains): The primary barrier separating the audience from the stage. We most often craft them from heavy, densely woven, elegant theatrical velvet with generous draping (150–200% excess fabric), which lends the auditorium a sense of grandeur and classic elegance. We also produce curtains tailored to traditional German (Greek), Italian, or Wagner-style opening mechanisms.
  • Stage drapes (ceiling drapes and side curtains): These fabrics are designed to conceal the overhead machinery, spotlights, side aisles, and actors waiting in the wings from the audience’s view. They are usually made of matte, light-absorbing black cotton molton fabric so that no light rays are reflected off them.
  • Backdrops and horizons: Huge, seamless pieces of fabric covering the rearmost wall of the stage, ideal for projections, lighting effects, or as a pure, deep-black background to enhance the sense of space.

  2. Available mounting options: Upon request, we can provide punched metal eyelets for tying, special curtain hooks for roller tracks, or hidden fasteners for support tubes.
  3. Weighted bottom hems: We equip every valance and main curtain with a lead cord, a weight chain, or a bottom pocket (tuck-in). This ensures that the curtains always hang perfectly straight and that stage air currents (drafts) do not move them out of place.
  4. Invisible and durable seams: Thanks to our modern technology, the joints between the fabric strips are virtually invisible from the audience, and the tensile strength of the seams meets the strictest safety standards for stage technology.

  • Stage cotton molton (stage felt): The most versatile stage fabric. It has excellent light-absorbing and sound-absorbing properties. It is available in a classic 300 g/m² decorative version and a heavier 500 g/m² acoustic version, most commonly in matte black.
  • Premium theater velvets: The epitome of luxury and elegance. We offer them in various thread densities and in blends of cotton or flame-retardant polyester (Trevira CS). They are extremely wear-resistant and feature deep, rich colors (e.g., theater burgundy, royal blue, deep black).
  • Tulle and mesh (Gobelin tulle): Special, see-through fabrics that act as an opaque screen when illuminated from the front, but reveal the stage space behind them when illuminated from the back. They are ideal for creating special visual effects and separating different areas of the stage.

4. Fire Safety on Stage: What Do the DIN 4102 B1 and EN 13773 Classifications Mean?

When it comes to theater curtains, flame resistance is not an option but a legal requirement. Our company places special emphasis on passive fire protection. The materials we distribute and install can be divided into two categories:

  1. Factory-treated, permanently flame-retardant (PFR) materials: These textiles (such as those made from Trevira CS fiber) are non-flammable at the molecular level. Their advantage is that they do not lose their flame-retardant properties even when exposed to washing, dry cleaning, or moisture.
  2. Retroactively flame-retardant (FR) materials: Natural fibers (such as cotton molton) that have been impregnated with a special water-based flame retardant during manufacturing. It is important to note that these materials cannot be washed with water, as washing would wash the protective treatment out of them.

For every curtain we deliver and every roll of fabric purchased, we provide an official, valid fire safety compliance certificate, which is fully accepted by the Disaster Management Agency and fire safety authorities during inspections.
